I have a handwarmer/cat steeping/sleeping underneath the halogen lamp, a glass of ice, and a two-liter of Diet Coke by my desk. I have a list of notes, a strong outline, and a reasonable sense of where I would flee to if I burned down a house and tried to murder my husband in 1834.

Date: 2010-02-14 02:30 pm (UTC)NYC wouldn't be a bad choice, actually. Illinois would be hard but do-able. The Black Hawk War would have just ended (2yrs before) and the chaos would be helpful (especially as fighting continued in MINN on and off into the 1840s- I think) Not that you could get *me* in MINN or Wisc before 1880. No, southern-ish Illinois would be nice. Hard, but nice and then if problems continued you could tag along behind the Mormons as they moved west to Utah in 1840s.
