I still need to get my stuff on anthology builder. Not that that has anything to do with your good news (which is fabulous, by the way), but seeing your shameless self promotion (tm) reminded me that I'm remiss in my own shameless self promotion (tm). Promise to beat me if I don't get this done by the end of the year? Pain's a good motivator.

Well, I dunno about beatings. You might take a butter knife to me, in an urban fantasy kinda way.

How do you feel about heckling? I'm pretty sure I can heckle.

It's funny, I have a similar deadline (mine's Christmas), and I'm less than 20k from the end. Today, it seems doable. (I could also be crazy.) My new goal in life is not to let a year go by without writing a new book. I'm getting dangerously close this year. Anyway, as a spur to keep momentum going after typing "The End," I've been making myself a little NaNoWriMo-esque spreadsheet for the next year of my life. 300 words a day of new stuff, plus 2 pages of editing/rewriting. AKA, 40 minutes of writing a day. I can do those two things in 20 minutes or less.

The other piece of the spreadsheet is that I have to do ONE minor chunk of "career maintenance" a day. Submit a story, or pimp something I've sold, or... put a story up on Anthology Builder... :) Anything that takes less than 20 minutes counts as One Thing.

Heckling's good.

I like the way you think. A little writing and a little editing and a little maintaining every day. Mayhap I will steal your idea.

Plus and also: y'know, i actually read these days. A little. I have about 20-40 minutes per workday to kill commuting, and i've finished like 3 books already! In only as many months! :)
