Lost Cat is now Found Cat.

Found Cat spent the whole night lying beside me, alternately chirping demandingly when I stopped petting him, or popping up and scratching his head.

Found Cat has fleas. (Or maybe ear mites. I'm hoping fleas. Fleas can be gotten rid of without a trip to the vet.)

I finally gave up on the elusive thought of good sleep about ten minutes ago. Arthur sat up, scratched his head, cursed me for the grody stuff I put between his shoulderblades, cursed me even louder for stopping with the petting!, then gave up on me and found a sunbeam.

Merlin? Utterly peaceful all night. Though really angry when I put the anti-flea stuff on him.

"You'll be glad when your head starts to itch," I told him.

He just blinked sulkily and went back to staring out the window.

He's still my hero.

Yeah that flea stuff is the worst.

But not as worst as fleas.

Did [livejournal.com profile] redmomoko ever tell you about when Moe got out?

We were of course both at work, but here is the story as reported by the neighbor who saw Moe get through the porch screen and encounter other cats.

He acted just like the adorable little thug we know and love. He found himself cornered by three neighborhood cats, so he chose one and beat the stuffing out of him, then ran off and hid under the back porch silently for six hours until his mama went out to call for him that night.

Pull the hit, then lay low in the safe house until your handler shows.

I was a bit put out that when *I* went out and called & called for him he didn't come out. Hadda be HER.

Oh well, at least he was okay. The neighbor who reported the fight thought he was a goner at first.
