So today in the mixed up files of mertastrophes....

...somehow, during my shower, which was a strange hoppy dance of "use the poison ivy scrub without actually touching yourself, just in case" I managed to lift the handset off the shower thingie and turn my head in such a way as to aim a good half-gallon of water directly into my ear canal.

Of the ear with the Eustachian tube disruption.

Not that my eardrum is permeable or anything. It's just. Now there's water sounds on BOTH sides of it.

OY.

You are a unique snowflake, my friend.

Oops, wrong icon, there. I did not, of course, intend to mock your pain.

Ouch! Can you do the trick of pouring a bit of alcohol in it to get the water out, or will that give the tube trouble?

Hmmm... I hope the ear is doing better. Water in my ears is mostly what keeps me from swimming.

As for the poison ivy, have you tried a cold/cool shower with Dawn dish soap? That's what we used at summer camp. I'm immune to poison ivy, but it seemed to work for other people.

Hey, does that mean if you hold Mer up to your ear you'll hear the ocean?
