Yes, folks, this is my library. Most of this video is true.

The only thing they got wrong is that the yellow line does not lead out at all. It's a trap.

I actually found a new (new to me) secret passage today, by the way.

If library admin wanted to really solve the budget crisis, they'd charge for ghost walks or haunted tours or something. Led by me. Yaw.

The sad thing is that the video simply doesn't do justice to the place. it is much weirder than represented there.

Truly. But for four minutes, it's not bad!

I've written stories about this library. And they don't even cover it, either.

Ah, retrieving memories. I have nostalgia. So I say for the fifth time in two days: "I wish I could move back to Ann Arbor!"

Excellent! You know, for having been a GRADUATE student in the LIBRARY school, I hardly set foot in the Graduate Library.

I still miss "my spot" at the east edge of 4A North. Spring / Summer term, I'd head straight from class and wrap up my homework right there.

I wonder if I still have my notes from researching the history of the place? It's interesting to know that the General Library Building still lives on, if only in part...

Fan. Tastic.

Too bad the 16th-century monk doors along the low hallway that connects both halves of the basement weren't featured. I always liked those.

At the end of the video, all I could think was "How'd he get that parking spot?"

I was actually stalked once in Hatcher. Fortunately, he wasn't very good at it and I managed to lose him somewhere between the lobby and South U. (I've actually forgotten what I did, but it involved outwaiting him so he couldn't keep following me without being deliberately obvious about it. My memory has a Michigan Daily and an elevator associated with it but refuses to connect them.)

(I was attacked in a Chicago branch library during college, so I get twitchy when I notice someone reappearing in my vicinity a little too often. And the odds of someone researching the same hodgepodge of things I was... *grim smile*)

I've been through many of those mysterious doors. If only I could reveal what lies beyond.....mwahhh.

Wow. That's pretty good. There needs to be another video that features the troll doors, the half-sized elevator, and the m.c. escher stairwell.

during the tours i will hide behind the half-open, chained-up tiny doors in the basement and shake them as you walk by
